Have you ever become more attached to a car/ship/spacecraft than you have a main character? What makes vehicles like the TARDIS, the Black Pearl, KITT, Serenity and others so compelling? Why are they becoming more central to the shows and movies we love?
You'd think geeks would be better actors. They seem to think so. Why do geeks have a predisposition to both embrace and recoil from the limelight? Are they compensating on the stage for social skill challenges in real life?
What would you like in a hypothetical Geek Community Center? Come and brainstorm with us, think big, and who knows - with enough hard work, our community dreams might one day become a reality!
Back in the days before TV people used to gather around the radio to listen to shows like X-1, The Mysterious Traveler, and Dark Fantasy. Most of these shows are now in the Public Domain. Come learn about these shows and where you can find them.
Do you feel ashamed stalking the hallways of Toys R Us for that elusive Star Wars figure? Do you display your action figure collection in your house? How do you justify these purchases and more importantly, how do you display and maintain them?
